Fly to Chania (CHQ)
Roughly an hour by car along the north coast, with the widest choice of international summer flights.

Or fly to Heraklion (HER)
Also about an hour away by car, with frequent connections and every major car hire desk in the terminal.

By ferry to Crete
Overnight ferries from Piraeus arrive at Chania and Heraklion ports; a transfer can meet the boat.
